A few months ago at the beginning of this autumn season, I wrote a piece about the resiliency of our local agriculture community. It is published in this month's edition of Edible Houston: The Feast Issue. I hope you will take a moment to consider the article, No Feast Without Farmers. For me personally, the time is now more than ever that we need to consider every way in which we help may build our communities and fuel our resiliency.
I'm putting all my efforts, every movement of my body, to supporting (financially and in action) every organization and business in my beautiful community that works tirelessly every day to lift up the oppressed, to give light where there is darkness, to repudiate all words and actions of hate and intolerance, and to empower its people to live in justice and freedom. So it's this idea of resiliency... especially resiliency in empowering our communities to be better and stronger and fight hate in all forms... that's what I want to communicate today. We must press on, we must be that resiliency now more than ever. No time for apathy or regret.
