This afternoon, the cosmos took pity on Houston and bestowed us a lovely rain gift. The farms are growing steadily in appreciation as we speak... such a sweet relief. I hope wherever you were, whatever you were working on, that the rains felt as refreshing to you as they did to us on the farm. We'd take a couple more here and there for the next month if anyone's taking orders...
This week's farm shares include harvests of...
Just a quick reminder that basil doesn't enjoy cold temperatures whatsoever! She's best kept fresh in a little glass on your kitchen counter with just enough water to reach her stems. No fridge though! Actually, the same goes for Moringa while we're at it. Making fresh cuts at the end of the stems before placing them in water will help, too. Everything else can be stored in a humid compartment of your fridge. (Sometimes I'll wrap the ends in a moist paper towel to keep my greens extra crisp!)
New to the farm share this week is Sown & Grown's summer arugula. She's a sassy treat in a summer salad.
